Goldendoodles come in multiple sizes. My Pup Central has the right one for your family!
If you have been thinking about getting a Goldendoodle, they are great dogs that are loyal, intelligent, non-shedding, and hypoallergenic. This crossbreed receives these genetic traits from the Poodle and Golden Retriever. However, the downside is that there are several Poodle and Golden Retriever sizes, which also creates several different Goldendoodle sizes. So, which Goldendoodle size is right for you and your family?
Goldendoodles have been bred in an assortment of sizes to fit every dog owner’s needs. There are three main sizes of Goldendoodles that are most widely recognized. From smallest to largest the sizes are mini Goldendoodle, medium Goldendoodle, and standard Goldendoodle. The most popular size Goldendoodle in 2021 was the mini Goldendoodle. That was partially caused by people having to stay in their homes (due to Covid-19) and wanted a furry, smart companion that didn’t require a large living space. Apartments, condos, and small homes are all great environments for the mini Goldendoodle as they want to hang out with their owners all day whenever possible.
The mini Goldendoodle size is the smallest out of the three most popular Goldendoodle sizes. The mini Goldendoodle size is a Goldendoodle that is approximately 30 pounds. The most common fully grown mini Goldendoodle size will be around 25 to 30 pounds with a height of around 16-18 inches.
The medium Goldendoodle is also a very popular size of Goldendoodle because it is usually between 30 and 40 lbs, but it isn’t too large. They also stand anywhere from 18 to 21 inches in height. Medium Goldendoodles are every bit as snuggly as the mini Goldendoodles there is just a little more of them to love.
The standard Goldendoodle is usually between 50 and 60 pounds and stands 22 to 24 inches tall. This is the biggest of the Goldendoodle sizes and will need plenty of room to run around in. Standard Goldendoodles are a great size dog for those that want the security of a larger dog and enjoy exercising with a dog. If you have a large house with a fenced yard, then a standard Goldendoodle might be the right dog for you. Alternatively, if you like exercising outside and need an outdoor companion, then the standard Goldendoodle would be the perfect dog for you.
